VERLIN F. SAMPLES JR.
Reverend
Verlin F. Samples Jr. joined the Tabernacle Baptist Church,
Columbus, Ohio, in June of 2001 under the pastoral leadership of the
late Reverend Dr. Odell Waller. He served faithfully for 12 years.
In May 2013, Reverend Samples was elected to be the pastor of
Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Pastor Samples holds the following degrees: Associate’s degree in
Criminal Justice from Community College of the Air Force; Bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University;
and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Lesley College.
He attended Eastern Union Bible College, under the instruction of
the Ohio Baptist General Convention President, Dr. Otha Gilyard.
He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. During his 23-year
military career, he served as a Security Policeman Superintendent
and retired with an honorable discharge in 1998. Pastor Samples
also serves as an adjunct instructor for Park University. He is a
Computer Science Information Technology Instructor and Distance
Learning Internet Computer Science Instructor.
Pastor Samples was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on June 6, 1956, to the
late Verlin F. Samples Sr. and Mary Ann Samples. He is married to the
former Rebecca Davenport of Hamilton, Ohio, and they have two
daughters, Kendra Pafford and Nema Samples-Smith, and six
grandchildren.
This is Pastor Samples’ testimonial statement: "I will love thee, O
Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my
deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and
the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord,
